Fiona McMonagle works predominantly in the medium of watercolour, making work that pays tribute to the disaffected and the working class. Her portraits often convey a sense of melancholy and nostalgia, with a unique directness that makes for a compelling encounter between subject and viewer. Her proposed new work, The huddle, which includes audio and sculpture, takes women’s soccer as its subject.
