William Mackinnon’s landscape paintings convey a powerful sense of place and mood. His recent work reflects his lifelong passion for surfing, representing the coastline of Shoreham, and the surfers who populate it. For the Basil Sellers Art Prize 4, he presented three large-scale paintings that evoke in the viewer the exhilaration and fear experienced by big wave surfers.
