Rendered in oil on the reverse side of glass, David Jolly’s paintings establish a compelling encounter between the luminous depth of painterly space and the mirror-like surfaces of screen culture. Jolly’s recent paintings reflect on the theatrical staging of sporting events held at venues such as Melbourne’s Albert Park.
