Melbourne-based artists Kate Daw and Stewart Russell have been collaborating for the past four years. The subject of their most recent work is Australian champion sprinter Peter Norman, who famously supported a civil rights political protest at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico. Daw and Russell have produced a series of mixed media works that explore issues of social justice, politics and courage.
Kate Daw was born in Esperance, Western Australia, in 1965. Stewart Russell was born in Scotland in 1960. Both currently live and work in Melbourne.
