Elvis Richardson incorporates found objects such as slides, VHS recordings and trophies in her art. She chooses these items to symbolise how personal and social identity is constructed and as primary evidence to further investigate material culture and history itself. Richardson is interested in the heroic iconography of trophies as well as their status as emblems.
Richardson is a founding member of Elastic artist-run initiative in Sydney, and recently moved to Melbourne to complete a PhD at Monash University.
